Westdale Middle School advanced art students and their teacher, Aliah James, created a sequin mosaic as a permanent keepsake from the district’s celEBRate event held on April 30. The students, who manned the art area at celEBRate, used the remaining supplies to create this beautiful piece of art designed by 8th grade student, Denise Verrett. The piece, depicting the Baton Rouge skyline, highlights our goal of building the future of the city.
Ms. James and her students shared the artwork with Superintendent Drake prior to the formal presentation during Thursday night’s monthly board meeting.
Thank you to Ms. James and her students Denise Verrett (8th grade), Byron Henderson (8th grade), and Trenton Davis (7th grade), pictured with the Superintendent.
