Louisiana’s First Lady, Mrs. Donna Edwards, and Miss Abby Reynolds, a Miss Louisiana Pageant contestant, visited the Dufrocq School on March 29th at 9:30 a.m. They discussed positive self-esteem and diversity awareness with fifth grade students. Miss Abby’s pageant platform is entitled “Authentically Beautiful,” and she has developed a self confidence kit which includes grade appropriate activities to help boost students’ confidence and levels of self-esteem. Our state’s First Lady heard wonderful things about the school and anticipated visiting the MicroSociety program. She took the opportunity to visit us along with Miss Louisiana. The Dufrocq School will be the first school to pilot the confidence building program.
