Kathleen Sarsfield has been named as Executive Director of the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System.
Sarsfield’s prior nonprofit leadership experience includes work for charitable pillars such as Capital Area United Way, the YMCA of Greater Baton Rouge, and Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She has also volunteered her time on multiple boards of directors, including Forum 35, Leadership Alumni of Greater Baton Rouge, and The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. Additionally, Sarsfield has independently consulted on organizational management and strategic planning issues for various local businesses, and has contributed to cultural economy work for the State of Louisiana.
Foundation board chair Stephen Loy said, “We are thrilled to have Kathleen on board. We think she has exactly the right combination of experience to take the Foundation to the next level – and ultimately benefit the deserving children in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.”
The mission of the Foundation for East Baton Rouge School System is to enhance education, champion innovation, and provide sustained financial support to public schools within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. The Foundation serves as a tax-exempt public charity and grant-making organization that provides vital support to area students, teachers and school administrators by building effective partnerships, and funding high-impact projects for which tax dollars are not available.
