About two dozen stakeholders donned hardhats and grabbed shovels for an official groundbreaking Monday at the new Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC).
The $17 million construction actually began this summer and the new facility is expected to open Fall 2018. The ceremony was an opportunity to acknowledge the many partnerships that made the project possible.
EBR School Board members, and district administrators and staff were joined by a number of city officials and community stakeholders.
“The EBR-CTEC will allow our high school students to pursue career credentials and college courses while still in high school. Students will still be able to attend their home site high schools for core classes and extra-curricular activities while still having access to take classes at a 21st century career center” Superintendent Warren Drake said. “The programs provided at EBR-CTEC were developed and refined over the past few years by a stakeholder group led by BRAC.”
