Buchanan Elementary School and McKinley High Host Annual Mardi Gras Parade

Feb. 5 2016

This year’s annual, community Mardi Gras parade held on February 5, 2016 at McKinley High School was coordinated by Susan Thornton of ICare and Heather Langois of Teamspirit. Buchanan Elementary School’s Student Government Association along with McKinley High School’s Band, Pantherettes, Family and Consumer Science Program, Library Club, and ROTC participated in the community parade. Susan Thornton and Heather Langois hosts this parade every year in order to promote safety and nonviolence during the Mardi Gras season. They want the students to see that you can have a good time at Mardi Gras while staying out of harm’s way.
