Nurses & Health Centers
Health Centers in Schools (HCIS) integrates health programs and services through school-based health centers and the school nurse program, creating “medical homes” for all East Baton Rouge Parish public school students. HCIS is unique and comprehensive, demonstrating significant cost benefits in student health care. The HCIS staff annually provides over 100,000 student encounters in the form of vision and hearing screenings, dental screenings, sports physicals and many other services.
